A Private Pilot Certificate, also referred to as, PPL, is a type of pilot license that allows the holder to act as pilot in command of an single-engine aircraft.
Private Pilots (PPL) will be equipped with the knowledge and skills to effectively navigate, adhere to flight safety protocols, apply flight principles, and understand meteorological conditions. PPL is your first step to additional flight ratings / certifications, and is your first step towards a career in aviation.
An Instrument Rating (IR)
is a rating that is added to a Private Pilot or Commercial Pilot License and refers to the qualifications that a pilot must have in order to fly under Instrument Flight Rules or IFR using cockpit instruments alone to navigate.
Commercial Pilot Rating (CPL).
A Commercial Pilot License, is a type of Pilot License that permits the holder to act as a pilot of an aircraft and be paid for his/her work.
A Multi-Engine Land (MEL) rating is an add-on rating which allows a pilot to operate as pilot-in-command of an aircraft with more than one engine. A Multi-Engine Rating offers Pilots increased safety, more job opportunities, and the chance to fly more capable aircraft. A Multi-Engine Pilot has increased career opportunities in Airlines jobs, Air Ambulance, Charter, Cargo, & Surveillance operations.
A person who holds a Flight Instructor Certificate (CFI) is authorized to give training and endorsements required for Pilot training. An instrument rating can only be done by a CFI who has an Instrument Instructor rating (CFII)
The Airline Transport Pilot (ATP)
is the highest level of aircraft pilot certificate. Those certified as Airline Transport Pilots are authorized to act as pilot in command on scheduled air carrier's aircraft under CFR 14 Part 121
